Ingredients of Lasooni Dahi Tadka
- 3 cups thick yoghurt, whisked
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoon mustard oil
- 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
- 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
- 10-12 garlic pods, finely chopped
- 2 green chilis, slit from between (as per taste levels)
- Hing
- Dry herbs
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ tablespoon sugar
- Salt (as per taste levels)
- Chopped coriander leaves (for garnish)
- Slivered ginger
How to Make Lasooni Dahi Tadka
- In a pan, heat some oil. Then add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Give it a gentle stir before adding cumin seeds in the same pan.
- Now add chopped onion and garlic to the oil and saute until it's golden brown. To this, add spices – hing, turmeric powder, and green chillies. Mix well so that the spices are well coated on the veggies. Cook for well for a minute.
- Switch off the burner and take the pan off it. Let the mixture cool down for 2-3 minutes. Now gently add whisked yoghurt to the pan while stirring continuously. Make sure not to add the yoghurt all at once to avoid curdling.
- Mix the yoghurt well with the garlic and onion tempering so that it changes its colour to light red. Now add salt, sugar, and dry herbs to it.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and slivered ginger. And voila! Your Lasooni dahi tadka is ready to serve!
